Matt & Rebekah
...Because he makes her feel like a normal teenage girl.
Rebekah asked Matt to Homecoming Dance but couldn't go because she was daggered by Elena.
Looking forward to the Family's Ball, Rebekah chose Matt to be her dancing partner. He agreed and danced the traditional waltz with her. Rebekah convines Kol to to kill Matt to make Elena suffer and Kol agrees. She asks Matt to escort her outside with intentions on killing him, when he grabs his coat to warm her, after which she changes her mind about killing him.Kol decides to follow through anyway, leading to Matt's hand being crushed before he is stopped. When Rebekah comes to Matt to apologize, he tells her to go away.
Matt is busy keeping Rebekah involved in the 20's Decade Dance preparations so that Caroline gets a day off to meet Tyler. He gives Rebekah a ride back to Klaus' Mansion and is sweet to her when he drops her off.
Matt needs someone to love him. Rebekah needs someone to make her feel like a normal girl. All chances are against them. But there is still hope.
For every one missing piece,
For every will that is broken,
No matter how dark it may be,
There is redemption.
The night is slowly closing
But my eyes are slowly opened
And I see that somewhere in you
There is a good heart
Teenage dream can become true,
But you speak like you wish death.
I cannot open my eyes to the night.
I haven’t seen past my own cage.
The missing piece,
The will that has been broken.
He is the good heart,
The good soul.
It seems like I’m moving so fast and so light,
Only to find I haven’t moved from this rage.
Why not open your eyes?
I fear if I open them,
That I may lose my life.
“But how can I trust your words,
When I’ve been hurt so many times?”
Then one day, you can trust another
And you will have the happy ending you wish for.
